LAO cuadal view is often the first view to be taken during coronary angiography. This view visualises the left main coronary artery and its proximal branches. A good reflux of dye after the coronaries are filled indicates that there is no wedging of the catheter in the coronary lumen. Wedging, if present will compromise the coronary flow and lead to ischemia. Another problem which can occur is superselective cannulation of either the left anterior descending artery or the left circumflex coronary artery. This can lead to compromise of flow in the other branch.
