How can you check whether a stent has been inserted in the coronary artery?

Coronary stents are thin spring like metallic structures and will not be visible on routine X-rays or ultrasound imaging of the heart (echocardiography).

Image intensifier fluoroscopic imaging (an enhanced form of live x-ray imaging) will show the stents in coronary arteries (blood vessels supplying oxygenated blood to the heart). Of course it will also be visible in the latest multi-detector computed tomographic (CT) scans of the heart.
